EmpowerPharm is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Anat Fields as Director of Clinical Projects to the science team.
Dr. Fields received her undergraduate degree in Pharmacy from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and proceeded to M.Sc. in pharmacology, focusing on the mechanism of action of tricyclic antidepressants. She subsequently completed her Ph.D. at Tel-Aviv University with a focus on intracellular processes associated with opioid addiction. Her postdoctoral research at the Center for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto focused on drug targets for Bipolar Disorder.
Dr. Fields has 20 years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry, where she headed the global clinical program at Apotex, overseeing scientific affairs, clinical and bioanalytical operations, as well as data management and clinical project management. Dr. Fields was also responsible for the development of clinical/regulatory strategies of the product pipeline. During those years, Dr. Fields established strong working relationships with various contract research organisations worldwide, ensuring a quality conduct of clinical studies. Dr. Fields hosted several FDA inspections of clinical and bioanalytical facilities, and had numerous discussions with both the FDA and Health Canada on scientific aspects of clinical study design and results. In an earlier role, Dr. Fields was responsible for providing scientific and regulatory guidance on all aspects of study design, statistical analysis, and reporting of bioequivalence and clinical equivalence studies of various dosage forms.
